Looking for a 13-inch Laptop with a better screen? Nothing would be a better pick when Dell XPS 13 OLED is on the table. After ages, Dell has come up with a 13-inch OLED Laptop that beats every other 13-inch Laptop in the market now in 2021. Let’s have a look at that-
The Unit
The unit we’re dealing with here now has a Core i7 1185G7 with 16GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The unit costs around $1,699.99 which is more or less the same as the 4K model without an OLED panel on it. That’s also $300 more than the FHD touchscreen model of the same size.
Build Quality
Dell XPS 13 OLED is the same thin and lightweight Laptop with smaller bezels and decent webcam that every other XPS 13 models are out there. The Laptop comes with glass-fiber palm rest and a 16:10 aspect ratio as well. Overall chassis is made of Aluminum and the edges are smoother with soft finishings on them. Keeping all these apart here’s more about the new stuff that Dell XPS 13 OLED features.
Dimensions are- Height: 0.58″ (14.8 mm), Width: 11.64″ (295.7 mm), Depth: 7.82″ (198.7 mm). The Dell XPS 13 OLED has a starting weight of 2.64 lb (1.2 kg) for the non-touch variant and 2.8 lb (1.27 kg) for the touch variants.
The Display
Speaking of the display, Dell XPS 13 OLED has the best 91.5% screen-to-body ratio. It’s a 3456 x 2160 pixel panel which is basically a 3.5K screen with a 100,000:1 contrast ratio. This screen has a 100% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3 color gamut, however, not as bright as the FHD variant.
The maximum brightness has been noted around 370 nits. Not to mention, outdoor usage is good with the brightness level. The colors are vivid and accurate. Details are precise and sharp. It’s everything that you can expect from a great screen. On top of that, the screen has a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

The Keyboard
The keyboard is another great feature that Dell XPS 13 OLED offers. The keys are awesome with a decent travel distance. The keys and Touchpad are larger than the previous models. In this variant, the Touchpad is 17% larger, and the edge to the keyboard offers a backlight.
The Webcam
A 4-element lens is used here as the webcam. This lens provides sharper images and better viewing angles during a video call. There is noise cancellation, noise suppression, video enhancements, and enhancements for low-light conditions with these all.
The Battery
Display and battery life are inversely proportional when it comes to usage and experience. A great display means not even a better battery life to expect. The Laptop comes with a 4 cell 52 Whr battery. To put in comparison, the FHD variant of the model survived 9 hours and 15 mins with a 200 nits brightness and average load on it. Now, the OLED variant offers 5 hours with the same settings and workload.
However, Dell is advertising that the Laptop offers 14 hours and 11 mins battery with FullHD+ streaming and 8 hours 12 mins when streaming videos on 4K. This is a downside for such an expensive Laptop. You need to choose between the display and battery life according to your needs.
The Ports & Slots
On the left side of the Laptop, there is a Thunderbolt 4 port that can be used for external displays and power delivery followed by a micro SD card reader. On the right side of Dell XPS 13 OLED, there is another Thunderbolt 4 port for external devices and/or power delivery. Not to mention, there is also a headphone jack.
