Galaxy devices are getting One UI 4.0 soon unless Samsung decides something else for its software. One UI 4.0 will focus on Android 12 and be based on Android 12 as well. The expected date for One UI 4.0 is apparently August 11 with the unveiling of Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

This UI version is Samsung’s 9th upgrade from the initial one. However, selective older Samsung devices will get the update based on compatibility. Android 12 will contain firmware updates, therefore, a certain amount of devices will miss out on Android 12 and One UI 4.0. At the same time, Android 12 will be the final OS update for a lot of devices as well.

We have sorted out Galaxy smartphones and tablets that are going to get Android 12 and One UI 4.0 upon release. Furthermore, Samsung is offering three major OS updates to its smartphones and tablets instead of two. The policy applies to devices released in 2019 and later with Android 9 or later
versions.
