If you are thinking of a search engine with total privacy, Brave, the same company with the browser now offers a search engine too. Recently, Brave announced their new search engine and it seems the technology is well developed by Tailcat which might cross Google even. Let’s check out the privacy-focused, Brave Search-
Why Brave Search?
Brave suggests that if you’re a privacy concern person and need a complete solution for surfing the internet without any compromise with usage and privacy, Brave should be your pick.
Being a Brave user, a person knows how promising Brave is with their services and privacy policies. Unlike Google, the recently released Brave Search beta prioritizes users and their entire privacy.
“Brave Search is built on top of a completely independent index, and doesn’t track users, their searches, or their clicks.”
– Brave
The Manifesto and Objective
Brave mentioned that more than 100,000 people are using beta access to Brave Seach. It is worth pointing out that more than 32 million active users are now using Brave. The company clears its manifesto with the Brave Search. Some principles make Brave the most trusted of all:
- No tracking or data collecting of any type from the users.
- Users are the top priority, not advertisers and obviously not the data industries.
- Has own search index that answers the common queries without pulling other providers.
- Options for ad-free paid search and ad-supported free search.
- No secrecy between the company and the users when it comes to privacy issues.
- Personalized and/or Instant search. Freedom to choose what works best for users.
- Brave Search will be open to power other search engines. There are no boundaries.
“Brave Search is the industry’s most private search engine, as well as the only independent search engine, giving users the control and confidence they seek in alternatives to big tech,”
– CEO and co-founder, Brave
The company further claims that Brave Search is not like others. This is the new engine with new algorithms for queries and searches with no compromise to privacy and zero trackings of user data.
Apart from all these, Brave is using its own index, including anonymous contributions from the community. For better search results and relevancy, the company is working harder and not depending on other search engines like Bing or Google.
Some Shortcomings
However, Brave says the search engine is still growing as a result, not everything is indexed. The company admits that at this point there might be some issues with search results but eventually, over time, the service will be better than most other search engines out there.
Planning with Ads
Moving on, Brave Search is not showing ads currently in the beta version. As soon as the final release comes there will be plans for users as mentioned before and ads will be shown accordingly. Brave will bring private ads with BAT revenue share to search and so on.

Wrapping Up
Right now, privacy is a bigger concern for all where tech companies are making businesses out of it. Search engines are affecting users the most. Brave seems taking the initiative to ensure privacy. Probably such a step of Brave might make Google suffer in the long run for dominating the internet and taking advantage of users’ privacy so far.
