Samsung’s Step
Over the years, Samsung tried to merge the Galaxy Note series with the Galaxy S series. They brought S Pen compatibility to Galaxy S21 Ultra. However, this move showed mixed feelings from the customer side. In 2021, Samsung decided to skip the Note series as there are chip shortage issues and a global health crisis.
Not to mention, the company launched S Series, Z Series devices with S Pen compatibility in 2021. Samsung didn’t mention anything about discontinuing the Note lineup up until now.

A new report is flooding the internet about the Samsung Note series. According to ETNews, Samsung excluded the entire Galaxy Note products from the annual smartphone production pipeline for 2022. Furthermore, production of previous Note i.e Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be stopped this year.
It has been fifteen months since Galaxy Note 20 series came on the market. A report says that Samsung has 3.2 million units of the Note 20 series to meet the demand of Note fans for 2021. Not to mention, in 2022, there will be no further production of the Note lineup.
Samsung’s Perspective
As technology is dynamic, Samsung wants to increase the production of foldable devices. The company believes that foldable devices are getting better and can replace the Note lineup. S Pen compatibility on the foldable is nothing but Note devices with foldability.
Samsung sold 12.7 million and 9.7 million units of Galaxy Notes back in 2019 and 2020 respectively. The South Korean company wants to ship more than 13 million Galaxy Z devices in 2022. Thus discontinuing Galaxy Note can help them to gain the target.

The Note Future
As Samsung slowly but effectively decided, it is high time Note fans should look for a new focus. In the future, Galaxy S Ultra devices will get S Pen compatibility to create a Note-ish device to cover Galaxy Note, the base models. For example, Galaxy S21 Ultra is doing the job now.
Not to mention, there is the Galaxy Z Fold series which is currently the top of the line of Samsung’s smartphone production. The Galaxy Z Fold will serve you with S Pen functionality to cover Galaxy Note Ultra models. To make things more visible, Galaxy Z Fold 3 is an example of this.
